Research management in UMYU embraces anything that the University does to maximize the impact of research activities. These functions are performed by the following;
- The Vice-Chancellor: The overall responsibility for the management of research in the University rests with Vice Chancellor, through the Research & Linkages Office,
- The University Board of Research: This is a Senate standing committee chaired by the Vice Chancellor. It is responsible for setting policies, advising Senate on research-related matters, and approving research proposals for both University based and other external grants. The committee is also responsible for establishing and monitoring research groups,
- The Research & Linkages Office: The office provides support and assistance to the University community in gaining research grants and in research grant management. This includes both internally and externally-sponsored grants. It also maintains data on all research activities within the University.
